Did you know that wood pellets are a new alternative product on the horse bedding market?

Wood Pellet Supplier for Horse Bedding

With many added benefits offered compared to traditional shavings or straw, customers using wood pellets are reporting a reduction in bedding consumption of up to 50%.

"I've found the pellets to be highly absorbent which reduces the amount of bedding I use and makes mucking out quicker and easier"  Stewart Crawford, 3 Day Eventer, Co.Antrim

WHY OPT FOR WOOD PELLETS?

1. Safety and Comfort
Wood pellets.....
- are much more absorbent than straw or shavings as they have such a low moisture content and
are made of soft wood fibre.
- Quickly absorb the moisture and odour of urine and provide a healthy and deodorised environment
   for your horse
- Expand up to three time their size when dampened, providing a soft comfortable 'cushion like' bed
- Provide a sterile bedding as they are heated to high temperatures during production
- Are screened prior to delivery to reduce dust
- Are easy to transport and are readily available

2. Environmentally Friendly
Wood pellets.....
- are bio-degradable
- rot down quickly and reduces much heap area by up to 50%
- can be spread on the land as fertilizer
- are 100% natural product with no chemicals, glues or toxins
- save you 30-50% on labour and transport costs as the bedding needs changed less often
- are compost-able and therefore there is less waste and disposal costs
- require less space for storage

HOW DO I USE WOOD PELLETS?

- depending on stable size between 6 and 10 bags are required to lay the initial bed
- to start a new bed, spead the pellets across the stable floor and use a hose to dampen them until
they begin to break down and fluff up
- dry pellets can be mixed with wet ones and the pellets will only need removed occasionally when
  they become completely saturated
- top up an existing bed you can mix dry pellets into the bed to boost the absorbent capacity.
Wood pellets will soak up urine and burst into a clean new bed.  You can decide where to place
the new pellets within the stable depending on where the horse prefers to 'go'.
- the amount of time you spend cleaning the stable will be greatly reduced due to the high absorption
  rate of the pellets
- a complete clean out of stable will only be required every few months
